Taught by Olin West and Loren Schmidt, this class (for oil or acrylic paint) will teach students to understand color and value, form, and composition. Pre-requisite: drawing ability. Just $100 for the entire 6-week session if prepaid. Return students pre-pay price: $85 for 6 weeks. Can't commit? Come whenever and pay the $25 "walk-in" fee each time. Tuesdays 1/26 though 3/2. Spaceport America Hard Hat Tours
8am & 1pm, depart from Sierra Grande Lodge, 501 McAdoo, Truth or Consequences
Tours will highlight New Mexico history in the Upham area, spanning from Spanish conquistadors and pioneer rocket research to the new commercial space industry. Participants get a look at the construction site, including the runway and vertical launch facility. The 10,000-foot long runway is expected to be complete by next summer. A terminal hangar facility should be built by early 2011. Tours are Saturday at 8am & 1pm, and Sunday at 1pm; reserve using the link below. Cost: $59 per person.

The Tea is being held to benefit Sierra County Cancer Assistance, Inc. to aid in their goal to provide Sierra County cancer patients with rides to Albuquerque and Las Cruces for chemotherapy or radiation treatments. Entertainment and Raffles all to benefit our Local Non-Profit Organization. Funds raised will remain within Sierra County. Sierra County Texas Longhorn World Class Show

Presented by the Texas Longhorn Breeders Association of New Mexico (TLBNM). Breeders from New Mexico, Texas, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Arizona will be showing all classes of cattle, which include heifers, cow-calf, steers, and bulls, in halter and open division. Judging will be held for youth and adults divisions. There will be several vendors from the local area, with items such as jewelry, pottery, mosaics, paintings, A silent auction will benefit the youth scholarship program and will be held during the show Saturday, ending Sunday.
